“Accessible Streets in the Revitalization of Downtown Areas.”

We present to you our long-awaited publication edited by Agnieszka Labus, “Accessible Streets in the Revitalization of Downtown Areas.”  The very process of preparing this publication was very demanding and lasted from February 2021 to the end of November 2022.

This publication is, among other things, the result of the work of students of the Silesian University of Technology within the framework of two PBL projects, “Street accessible (…)” under the direction of Agnieszka Labus with the support of Laka Perspectives (Damian Przybyła and Rafał Przybyła ), which made it possible to involve international experts Marvin Bratke, Anastasia Elrouss and Alberto T. Estévez in the project evaluation, and “Accessible design (…)” under the direction of Iwona Benek and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Klaudiusz Fross.

A special effort in the preparation of the publication was made by male and female students of the Faculty of Architecture – Aleksandra Gajewska, Agata Goleśna, Joanna Jonda, Paulina Konsek, Anna Ławecka and Dominika Bednarz, Marta Błaszczyk , Hanna Galas, Ania Kieloch, Patrycja Sojka, Patryk Prychodko.

Huge kudos to Karolina Jaenchen for the composition of this publication and Zuzanna Gawron for the book’s memorable cover.

The book could be published thanks to the support of the JM Rector of the Silesian University of Technology within the framework of the pro-quality program for grants to publish a scientific or teaching monograph, and thanks to the agreement of the head of the department, Dr. Eng. Arch. Alina Pancewicz under the funds of the BK Department of Urban and Spatial Planning, Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology.
