Educational project and the ‘Śląskie Przysiadki’ competition – Gliwice, Silesian University of Technology
The Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology has started a new educational project and student competition ‘ŚLĄSKIE PRZYSIADKI’, in which the Laboratory of Architecture is a co-organizer.
The educational project was created thanks to the initiative of the Silesian branch of the Polish Ergonomics Society, and it is organized by the Faculty of Architecture, the Silesian University of Technology and the LAB 60+ Foundation. The workshop took place at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology with the participation of seniors from the University of the Third Age in Gliwice. The work on the subject took place in a creative atmosphere created by students and seniors. The Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology also held workshops with the participation of an expert from the HEWI Heinrich Wilke GmbH – Maciej Jaworski. Students had the opportunity to test moving around in a wheelchair, walking with a cane for the blind, glasses simulating visual disturbances and moving in a suit simulating old age. As part of the project, there was a lecture, which concerned the design of seating furniture. PhD Groń also showed the process from the idea to the realization of the furniture. At the end of the event took place an award ceremony.
