“Vulnerable Cities of the Future”.

Over the weekend, Agnieszka Labus, together with Zuzanna Mielczarek, had the opportunity to lead a 2-day workshop as part of the 7th edition of the Academy of the City “Sensitive Cities of the Future” – Malta Festival Poznań. Together with a group of participants from all over Poland, we dissected housing policy in Poland in the context of the economics of the bagel, environmental issues, technology/typologies, lifestyles, and comfort/safety.

The result of the collaborative effort is an axis of housing policy in relation to events and changes in three dimensions: past, present and future projection. As you can see from the pictures, the future can be many – the axis branches out into three scenarios and spatial and socioeconomic contexts for given specific locations in Poznan.

The groups proposed solutions ranging from mix-use as an adaptation of shopping centers to cooperatives in office buildings and many other alternative forms of housing.

The workshop process succeeded at the level of strategic actions but also design solutions, and the result exceeded expectations thanks to the creativity and substantive knowledge of the participant(s). Good job!
